Comadre
Micaela Sanchez is a proud first-generation Mexican American with deep roots in Monterrey, Mexico. She grew up in the vibrant Latin community of Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas, where she developed a strong sense of cultural identity and community. At the age of 17, Micaela became a mother, an experience that profoundly shaped her life and future career. Navigating the complexities of the healthcare system as a young mother ignited her passion for women's health and inspired her to pursue a career in nursing.
Determined to make a difference, Micaela enrolled at Texas Woman's University (TWU), where she earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Women's Health. Her commitment to providing compassionate and culturally sensitive care drove her to excel in her studies and deepen her understanding of the unique challenges faced by women, particularly those in underserved communities.
